Wanderer returns

Hello anyone out there!   I have been absent for a while, we had a holiday on the Isle of Mann, which was lovely. We saw huge basking sharks close up and some wonderful views.  The vintage transport system and the TT race route appealed to Rick, Rachael loved the beaches.

Anyway I said my latest discovery was Zentangle, well, I have now been playing with paper bead making!  What fun they are, if a bit fiddly.  I even tangled on white paper and make beads out of that!

Changes afoot.....

Well -  I have finally got around to continue with my blog... it has got so out of date and there have been many changes in both my hobbies and interests here at home.


The biggest one is that I  have discovered ZENTANGLE.  this has changed my crafting since Christmas and I have been exploring this art form and experimenting Zentangle and all its uses and off shoots.


One of the nicest parts has been my discovery of LINEWEAVING  this is a forum site with lots of crafty folk chatting and sharing ideas and helping each other, swapping ATC's and other art work.  I love it.

 These are the first Zentangle tiles I made with help from watching You tube and various books from Design Originals.

I was both surprised and thrilled with the results

I also found the ZEN in Zentangle!  it really is relaxing and refreshing working on these little tiles                                                                                                                                    

             

I am very proud of this one - its a rubber stamp with added tangles, I do think the effect is striking.

I made this little gem from an idea shown in USA - I used the silver cord and red ribbon with 3 brads to hold it all together - not pretty at the back! but works a treat... now just need to read the book.....if I start I won't be able to put it down...I read Jamaica Inn during my holiday and even read in the car which usually makes me travel sick....

New Moon 19 March 2011

Beautiful view of the New Moon taken outside my house this evening with my Fuji HS10 camera

The Moon is closest to the Earth tonight and therefore looks bigger and brighter than usual.

It has been 18 years since it was this close to us.
